Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

The Diploma in CBT provides the structure, therapeutic framework and CBT skills necessary to lay a sound foundation for further studies and qualification in this therapeutic modality. The course runs over one scholastic year (three modules), and includes lectures, video presentations, technique presentations, case study presentations, groups work, role play, study groups and presentations by the trainees. Written homework is handed regularly, as are written and oral examinations at the end of each module. Trainees are also expected to present a dissertation at the end of their studies. The course in intended for any suitably qualified person that wishes to have basic skills or to lay the foundations for further studies in this therapeutic modality. Categories of persons likely to benefit from this course include doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, teachers and pharmacists and indeed any other person who wishes to possess psychological tools to help others. Entry Requirements A minimum of 6 certificates, two of which being at Advanced level and three at Intermediate level and one at ordinary level. A subject cannot be offered at more than one level. Foreign students must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Qualifications Authority. Besides the aforementioned certificates, they must provide a certificate in English language to demonstrate that they can follow the course of studies with profit. A general certificate of education in the English language or other certificates of a similar level would be accepted. Students of age 23 or older and considered to be mature students. Mature students not having all the necessary requirements may still be admitted, provided that after being examined individually, the Faculty Board of the Pro Deo International ascertains that they can follow the course with profit. Any candidate may be asked for an interview by the Faculty Board of the Pro Deo International. Any decision by the Faculty Board is final.
